Thanks, Erica. I am hoping my Evil Plan will tempt folks to try painted canvases with all the threads and a stitch guide from the Stitches for Effects ladies to help.

What fun! That caanvas isn't exactly my style, so I'll hope to learn about stitching on canvas at the CreativFestival instead, even if those aren't painted canvases. I think I've signed up for two canvas work classes.
