It's a sad day today.....

Today we're all a bit sad around here for we woke this morning to find one of our furry family members had crossed over the rainbow bridge.


Our little Joey (a.k.a. Joey-the-wonder-hamster) passed suddenly in the early hours this morning. He'd been with us for a year and a half and we will miss him dearly. He came to us as the result of a friend 'upgrading' to a guinea pig and they wanted Joey to have a good home. So, he moved in with us and enriched our lives. He had the loveliest personality - he didn't bite anyone and loved to be with us. If you stood near his cage, he always woke up and came to investigate. He loved to be held and petted. We learned early on that broccoli was the way to his little hamster heart.

He now sleeps with my roses. We'll all miss you little Joe. Sleep well.
